Consumers Credit Union Hosts 88th Annual Meeting

Gurnee, IL February 13, 2018: Consumers Credit Union (CCU; Member-owned; $1.24 Billion, Gurnee, IL) hosts its 88th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Holiday Inn - Gurnee, IL. The meeting features the election of four (4) Members to the credit union's Board of Directors, along with the awarding of ten (10) scholarships, each worth $2,000.00. The scholarships are selected and awarded by Consumers Cooperative Association, the credit union's sponsor.

The Annual Meeting kicks off with a welcome from John R. Janezic, CCU's Chairman of the Board, followed by Sean Rathjen's CEO presentation. Sean will provide an overview of CCU's 2017 financial performance that will include a comparison to other banks and credit unions, both nationally and locally. His presentation will also highlight significant achievements from the past year, along with a look ahead to plans for 2018 and beyond. Attendees will also meet the candidates for the credit union's all-volunteer Board of Directors, followed immediately by the Board election. Those unable to attend the Annual Meeting may vote in advance by proxy ballots, which are available at all CCU Service Center locations and online at myconsumers.org.

Nominees for election to the CCU Board of Directors include the following (listed alphabetically by last name, along with city of residence, with incumbents identified as such): Lakeia Bluford, Chicago, IL; Alice Clements, Incumbent, Buffalo Grove, IL; Thomas Ervesun, Chicago, IL; Spiro Giotis, Incumbent, Hawthorn Woods, IL; Steve Hoenig, Mundelein, IL; James Mahnich, Incumbent, Lake Villa, IL; Kenneth Robinson, Incumbent, North Chicago, IL; and Dr. John Schwab, Waukegan, IL.

"This meeting offers a unique opportunity for Members to meet our leaders at both the Board and Management level. Approximately 300 Members and guests are expected to attend the meeting at Holiday Inn - Gurnee, located on Grand Avenue, just west of I-94. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. 2017 Annual Reports will also be distributed at the meeting. Tickets are available at all CCU Service Centers for $15.00 on a first-come, first-served basis; no tickets will be sold at the door.
