Henry Puffer School hosts its first McTeacher's Night at Lisle McDonald's

Henry Puffer School in Downers Grove District 58 in held its first McTeacher's Night at the Lisle McDonald's on Maple Avenue on Wednesday, Jan. 31.

A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Wednesday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Puffer Hefty PTA. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and principal McDaniel behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Sixteen teachers and staff members worked from the school. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies, dressing up in a Pie Box, and serving ice cream cones - all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Teacher Phil Szuck was in the Pie Box for the entire last hour of the event and he had a blast.

A special thank you goes to Puffer Hefty PTA representative Claudia Rehrer who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Henry Puffer School teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening.

Henry Puffer School raised a lot of money and plans to use the money raised for assemblies, classroom parties, library enrichment, teacher wish lists, learning labs and classroom technology.
