Fox Valley Music Foundation joins #GivingTuesday - donate today!
AURORA, IL - Fox Valley Music Foundation has joined #GivingTuesday, Nov. 28, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. The foundation's mission is to preserve, promote and protect the wonderful music of the Fox Valley area of Illinois while providing Music Education to people of all ages and from all walks of life. The FVMF has recently received a $125,000 redevelopment grant from the City of Aurora. These funds will support the partial demolition and repurposing of property located at 19-21 S. Broadway in Aurora. But more funds are required to convert the Broadway building into a performance space, museum, offices and a retail shop. So #GivingTuesday provides an opportunity to contribute to the FVMF to fulfill their mission.
The FVMF plans to bring in local, regional and national musicians for performances and local singer/songwriters, poetry and film groups to support the educational component, among other things. The space will serve as a central location for musicians and music lovers to congregate, interact, share, develop and perform music, as well as sharing the rich music history of the region with the larger community. Other funding is being obtained through membership, sponsorship, grants, donations and concert revenue.
