Top Chicago comedians to perform in West Chicago
Some of Chicago's top stand-up comedians will perform in the Funny for Fest at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at West Chicago Community High School to raise money for the school's drama program and its extended endeavors.
The comedy performance will be in West Chicago Community High School's Weyrauch Auditorium, 326 Joliet St. Tickets, $20 for adults and $10 for students, are available online at wegotheatre.com or at the door. Adults and high school-age students are welcome.
"I am so glad these comedians are willing to help us with this benefit," Wego Drama member Kenneth Correa said. "We do a lot to promote the art and help the community, and fundraising is a big challenge."
The lineup of comedians includes: WGN radio host Patti Vasquez, who has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Network and TBS's "The Very Funny Show;" Pat McGann, who has two Letterman appearances, is host and creator of WTTW TV's "The Chicago Stand-Up Project," and is in a Frosted Flakes commercial with Tony the Tiger; John Dacosse, a regular on the "Steve Cochran Show" on WGN radio who appeared in the original "Meet the Parents" movie; Brian Noonan, who has appeared on "The Tonight Show" and "Malcolm in the Middle" and hosts a weekend show on WGN radio; Kelsie Huff, a regular on ABC's "Windy City Live" and the WCIU-TV "Morning Show;" and Hannah Stanley, a Chicago area media personality and comic.
The evening also includes a special preview performance of Wego Drama's next show, "We Will Rock You," which will be performed Thursday to Saturday, Nov. 16 to 18.
"I think it is great to briefly share a stage with these professionals with a preview of our show," student David Brown said.
Wego Drama is an award-winning program. Students have been recognized by the Illinois High School Association and the American High School Theatre Festival, and have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.
"I love our program and want to keep it expanding," Wego Drama member Abby Carr said.
