Uribe Jr. reportedly signs with White Sox
On his Instagram account Sunday, Juan Uribe Jr. posted one photograph of himself wearing a White Sox cap and jersey and another one of himself signing a contract.
Uribe has reportedly agreed to a $200,000 signing bonus and the Sox are expected to make the deal official on Monday. The move is a natural fit.
Juan Uribe played shortstop for the White Sox from 2004-08 and was a key contributor on the 2005 World Series championship team.
In an interview with Hector Gomez, Uribe was asked about Juan Jr.'s future.
"Several teams have shown interest in my son," Uribe said. "I would like him to sign with the White Sox because he was born and raised in Chicago and I played for them for five seasons. I love White Sox fans."
The Sox have also reportedly signed Luis Reyes, a highly-rated pitcher from the Dominican Republic.
