Sister of Bears' Quinn, wins Olympic gold in 100-meter hurdles

Football was likely the last thing on Robert Quinn's mind Sunday night.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the sister of the Bears' outside linebacker, won the gold medal Sunday night in the 100-meter hurdles. Competing for Puerto Rico, Camacho-Quinn finished in 12.37 seconds at Tokyo's Olympic Stadium. She became the second Puerto Rican athlete ever to win an Olympic gold medal. The siblings' mother is from Puerto Rico.

Earlier in the day Sunday, Camacho-Quinn made headlines with her 12.26 finish in a semifinal heat. It was the fourth-fastest time in history.

Quinn watched his sister Sunday night on the big screen at Halas Hall with his family and several teammates and coaches. Quinn said at about hurdle number five or six he threw his phone and lost his mind.

"I ran up to the screen and I could see her starting to pull away," Quinn said. "I don't know, it's still settling in on me."

Quinn and Camacho-Quinn spoke twice Monday morning. Quinn said she had the gold medal wrapped around her neck.

"She's going against everyone in the world and beat 'em," Quinn said. "That's different. Winning the gold is something to be proud of and knowing that the challenges of all the stuff."

Bears receiver Marquise Goodwin, a former Olympian himself, gave a shoutout to his teammate, writing on Twitter that Quinn "bout to get all the sacks" in practice Monday.
