Bulls rookie Williams coping with busy NBA life, snow

Before facing New York on Monday, Bulls rookie Patrick Williams was asked what's been the biggest adjustment to playing in the NBA.

"I would say is making sure I'm locked in every day," he said. "Every day is an important practice or important game. You have back-to-backs. For February, we either have a back-to-back or one day off in between. There are no really off days here.

"So just make sure that you're locked in each day because each day is important. In college, you have a week in between, four days, five days in between each game. You might be able to take one of those days off and everything still would be good."

Williams is also getting a crash course in Chicago winters. He was a lifelong Charlotte, N.C. resident until spending a year of college at Florida State.

Teammate Zach LaVine caught Williams trying to wipe the snow off his car using the handle-side of the brush instead of the brush side, and posted the video. LaVine said Williams figured it out quickly.

"It's different for sure," Williams said. "Just driving in it, your car kind of slides. So you learn the turns to make. It's definitely different. I've never driven in anything close to this."

Williams said buying a snow shovel is on his to-do list, so he can make sure his car doesn't get blocked by plowed snow.
