Bears WRs persevere through overturned TDs, rally with big plays late

It would've been easy for the Bears receivers to throw up their hands and give in.

Twice on Sunday, the Bears had touchdowns overturned by video review. One, a would-be touchdown for Allen Robinson, was a highly questionable call by the officials. The other came on a 4th-and-17 in the fourth quarter, and felt like a nail in the Bears' coffin.

But this Bears receiving corps is proving a resilient bunch.

Robinson has hardly had anything go his way. From the off-the-field contract discussions, to a slow start on the field. Robinson had an interception swiped right from his hands for the second week in a row. It came on Nick Foles' first possession of the game, on a toss to the right corner of the end zone.

Still, Robinson put that play - and his obvious frustration - behind him and turned in his best performance of the season thus far. He capped it with a 37-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter, during which he broke a tackle and evaded defenders on his way to the end zone.

"When you have things like (the overturned touchdown) happen, it's just about bouncing back and making the next play," Robinson said. "That's what it is. If I'm going to help lead this team to have success, it's going to be plays like that, it's going to be situations like that. No matter how wrong the call was or whatever, I've got to be able to bounce back and make a play, which I was able to do."

Robinson ended his day with 10 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. He stepped up exactly when the Bears needed someone to step up and make a play.

Miller responded too. His overturned touchdown was less debatable than Robinson's, but that didn't make it any easier to swallow.

Miller rebounded and caught what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown on a 28-yard pass from Foles with less than two minutes to play.

"I know he wants and everybody around him wants perfection, but it's not going to be perfect," Robinson said. "I tell A-Mill all the time, man, just try to make the plays, man. It's not going to always be perfect. When you look across the league, you look around the league, people have drops. ... Just make more plays than you don't make."
