Girls volleyball: Harvest Christian names Kownacki new coach
Harvest Christian Academy has named Andy Kownacki as its new girls volleyball coach.
Kownacki replaces Mike Bui who announced his retirement from the program in late December so he can spend more time with his young family. Bui served as Harvest coach from 2015 to 2019, guiding the Lions to a 110-50 record, two conference championships, one co-conference championship, four regional titles, three sectional titles, one supersectional title and a fourth place state finish in state in 2017.
Kownacki comes to Harvest after previously coaching at Sycamore including a third-place finish in state in 2008, Most recently, he was the head girls volleyball coach at Belvidere High School.
