Sanchez, Rizzo win Gold Gloves

Before hitting the practice fields in the early days of spring training at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz., White Sox infielder Yolmer Sanchez was asked about yet another position change.

"I make it fun," he said. "It's not about the position, it's about me. I feel ready for any position. I can play third, I can play second, I can play short. Wherever the team needs me, I'm going to try to do my best."

A natural shortstop, Sanchez was the Sox's regular third baseman in 2018 and much of '17.

With Yoan Moncada moving from second base to third this season, Sanchez was shifted to second.

He had a lot of fun, as usual, and Sanchez has to be really happy after winning his first Gold Glove on Sunday.

Sanchez was voted the American League's best fielding second baseman and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo won his third Gold Glove in the National League.

After making 3 errors in his first five games, Sanchez finished the season with 9 errors in 149 games. According to Baseball Reference, he led AL second baseman with 11 runs saved.

Rizzo had 1,268 total chances at first base for the Cubs this season and only made 5 errors.
