Girls volleyball: South Elgin wins 20th game

South Elgin d. East Aurora 25-14, 25-17: The Storm (20-6, 7-0) remained undefeated in the Upstate Eight Conference with a solid win over East Aurora on Thursday night. Leading the stats for South Elgin were Alyssa Worden with 9 kills and 14 digs, and Angelina Negron with 8 kills and 15 digs. Allison Cunniffe added 25 assists and 5 digs in the win.

McHenry d. Dundee-Crown 25-22, 25-21: The Chargers (6-14, 3-11) played a strong 2 sets, but couldn't produce enough offense for the win. Jenna Brown led Dundee-Crown with 23 assists and 7 digs. MacKenzie added 8 kills and 2 blocks and Natalia Smiech finished with 11 digs and 6 kills.

CL South d. Burlington Central 25-12, 26-24: The Rockets made a strong comeback in the second set, but the Gators (11-9, 7-7) ultimately prevailed. Sam Wesoly had 6 kills for CL South and Mia Regillio added 6 blocks. Lauren Buckley finished with 4 aces and Jenna Rhoades contributed 13 assists. Addy Nava led the Rockets (8-14, 1-13) with 11 kills and 3 digs and Morgan Leone finished with 12 digs. Eysha Salwan and Rachel Stoneman split setting duties with 11 assists and 12 assists, respectively.

Huntley d. Jacobs 25-12, 25-10: The Red Raiders (19-2, 14-0) continued their undefeated run in the Fox Valley Conference in decisive fashion. Emma Konie led the offense with 8 kills and Kylie Jenkins added 6 kills and 9 digs for Huntley. Taylor Jakubowski finished with 22 assists.

Elgin Academy d. Francis Parker 25-17, 25-15: The Hilltoppers (11-14, 3-3) improved their record to .500 in conference with a 2-set win over Francis Parker. Elizabeth Sporina was a perfect 7-for-7 from the line of service with 2 aces, along with 19 assists and 2 kills. Marina Aristodsemo added 7 kills and 2 aces, Maddy Beauchamp had 10 digs, and Madison Noble-Stas finished with 10 digs and 5 kills.
