Boomers' Nieporte, Oddo all-stars, Larson is executive of the year

Schaumburg Boomers first baseman Quincy Nieporte and catcher Nick Oddo were named postseason All-Stars in the Frontier League.

General Manager Michael Larson was named the recipient of the Bob Wolfe Award for Executive of the Year in the Frontier League.

Nieporte set a league record Aug. 21 at Gateway, driving home 10 runs to become the first player in the 27-year history of the league to knock in double-digit runs. He led the league in hitting with a .315 average and finished third in RBIs with 71.

Oddo was a midseason All-Star starter this year, just the fourth player in team history to log more than one All-Star selection.

"I'm greatly honored to win this award," said Larson, a Minnesota native, who helped the team lead the league in attendance. "We have a tremendous staff, supportive ownership, great fans and community, and a great team that makes it fun to come to work every day."
