Golf tip: How to better control your wedge game

One thing I see many amateurs struggle with is that they use one club around the green, and it's usually their most lofted club.

Many amateurs tend to use their hands incorrectly through the hitting area, which creates inconsistencies in the loft they deliver into impact. As a result, they have a difficult time controlling the trajectory of the shot and how far the ball will carry.

One suggestion I have for amateurs is to try hitting pitch shots with less loft with a gap wedge especially when you have more green to work with. Save using your lob wedge for when you have to lob the ball over a bunker or when the pin is close to the edge of the green. Play the safe shot versus trying the hero shot.

Pros work on saving shots and the amateurs need to eliminate shots to lower their scores.
