Girls volleyball: West Aurora records impressive nonconference victory

In a matchup of the Daily Herald's Top 20 teams, No. 15 West Aurora knocked off No. 6 Naperville North, 25-19, 18-25, 25-21.

West Aurora (10-4) was led by Lauren Greenwood (16 digs), Chloey Myers (8 kills), and Jenna Millen (24 assists).

Batavia d. Glenbard North 25-20, 15-25, 25-14: Despite struggling to contain the Glenbard North offense, the Bulldogs (6-9, 2-0) pulled everything together in the third set to take this DuKane Conference match. Priya Dave led Batavia with 18 assists and 14 digs. Lauren Haefer added 11 kills and Grace Wecker finished with 7 digs for the Bulldogs.

McHenry d. Burlington Central 25-16, 20-25, 25-20: The Rockets (4-7, 1-6) put on a strong showing in the second and third sets, but ultimately gave up this match to McHenry in Fox Valley Conference action. Addy Nava led Burlington Central with 10 kills and 10 digs, Rylie Hahn added 8 kills and 7 digs, Morgan Leone finished with 11 digs, Rachel Stoneman finished with 3 kills, 12 assists and 4 digs, and Lily Moretti had 13 assists.

Elgin Academy d. Morgan Park Academy 25-8, 25-15: The Hilltoppers (5-10, 1-2) utilized balanced offense and a solid defense to notch their first conference victory. Elizabeth Sporina led Elgin Academy with 3 kills and 18 assists, while Marina Aristodemo added 2 kills and 11 digs. Madison Noble-Stas finished with 5 kills and 4 digs, and Maddy Beauchamp finished with 3 kills and 15 digs for the Hilltoppers.

Harvest Christian d. Westminster Christian 25-9, 25-9: The Warriors (2-14, 0-4) struggled to get the offense going against a tough Harvest Christian team. Lizzy Muschong led Westminster Christian with 4 kills and 4 digs, Alyssa Cunningham added 3 kills, and Gretchen Hill finished with 7 assists and 2 digs.
