Girls volleyball: Streamwood, Batavia earn conference wins

Streamwood d. Elgin 25-15, 25-12: The Sabres (4-12, 1-1) picked up their first win in the Upstate Eight Conference, cruising through 2 games in a row to take the match. Vivian Sumoksi had 8 kills for Streamwood, Natalie Stoch added 4 kills and 12 digs, and Mary Rackow finished with 15 assists.

Batavia d. Lake Park 17-25, 25-14, 25-17: Batavia had a tough time containing Lake Park's offense, down 9-1 in the first set, but the Bulldogs (5-8, 1-0) never gave up. Olivia Vani finished with a career-high 11 kills, and Kyra Taylor finished with a career-high 9 kills to go wih 3 aces. Priya Dave set up a career-high 29 assists, and Kassy Diaz added 11 digs and 2 aces for Batavia.

McHenry d. Dundee-Crown 25-17, 25-21: The Chargers (0-5, 0-5) suffered a tough loss despite a solid effort in Fox Valley Conference action. Jenna Brown led Dundee-Crown with 13 assists and 6 digs. Natalia Smiech added 5 kills and 3 digs.

CL South d. Burlington Central 25-17, 23-25, 25-21: The Rockets (1-4, 1-4) came back to win the second game, but ultimately lost the match in the third game. Leading the offense for the Gators (2-3, 2-3) was Jessica Proszenyak with 9 kills and Ashley Drzewiecki with 8 kills. Jenna Rhoades finished with 23 assists for CL South and Kelly Carlson added 14 digs. Leading Burlington Central were Kat Schmidt with 5 blocks, 5 kills, and an ace, Rylie Hahn with 2 aces, 9 kills, and 7 digs, Rachel Stoneman with 2 aces, 5 kills, 10 assists, and 3 digs, and Lily Moretti with 13 assists and 4 digs.
