Girls volleyball: Fremd wins in two at Prospect

Sophomore Rylen Reid put down 7 kills and senior Breslen Reid added four to help lead Fremd's girls volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-20 over Prospect at the Jean Walker Field House in Mount Prospect Tuesday night.

Rylen and Breslen also had 3 aces apiece in the Mid-Suburban League crossover match while teammates Lydia Vander Ark (10 assists) and Eliana Rizzo (5 assists) handled the setting chores.

The Vikings improved to 6-2 while the Knights are 1-3.

Barrington d. Elk Grove: Jessica Horwath and Noelle Daehler each had 6 kills to lead visiting Barrington (3-4) in a 25-17, 25-15 MSL crossover triumph.

Campbell Paris added 5 kills while Amanda Cleary (10 digs) served 4 aces for the Fillies. Amelia Sigaev (11 assists) and Felecia Guaglairdo (5 assists) handled the setting.

Hersey d. Conant: Kati Kaburov (10 kills) and Nora Zielke (5 kills) were top attackers for host Hersey (6-2) in a 25-19, 25-16 MSL crossover win.

"We had some solid backcourt passing and great offense," said Hersey coach Nancy Lill, whose team played on its home court for the first time this season.

Natalie Jurgenson led Conant (2-6) with 5 kills.

Rolling Meadows d. Hoffman Estates: Ashlyn Ryan (7 kills), Patrycja Winnicki (6 kills) and Bianca Madey (4 kills, 2 blocks) led host Meadows to a 25-18, 25-15 MSL crossover win.

Erin Behls handed out 21 assists for the Mustangs (3-6) while Patricia Wadas had 6 kills and Ashley Poland registered 14 digs and 2 aces for the Hawks (4-4).

Buffalo Grove d. Schaumburg: Megan Mitsunaga (12 kills), Shannon Coglianese (8) and Sofiya Savytska led host Buffalo Grove to a 25-19, 25-22 MSL crossover win. Ella McBride served 3 aces and Claire Schneider had 21 assists for the Bison (2-7).

Nazareth d. St. Viator: Nazareth posted a 25-18, 25-11 East Suburban Catholic Conference triumph over the Lions (1-3, 0-1), who were led on attack by Maria Torosian (5 kills), Vicky Gorny and Lilly LaFleur (2 kills).
