Boys volleyball: Barrington headed to sectional finals
Barrington's boys volleyball team advanced to Tuesday's Machesney Park Harlem sectional finals by defeating Rockford Boylan 29-27, 25-16 in Friday night's semifinals.
The Broncos will take on Deerfield for the sectional title. Deerfield downed Lakes 25-16, 25-17 in Friday's second semifinal.
Leading Barrington in Friday's win were Ricky Gibson (7 kills), Ben Ridgway (7 kills), Gabe Hartke (7 kills, 10 digs, 3 aces), Ved Anand (6 kills, 2 blocks), Kyle Vasquez (26 assists, 11 digs), Chris Babicz (10 digs), Chris Parker (6 digs) and Luke Kolder (2 blocks).
