Rain, snow postpones White Sox-Tigers game

Before the White Sox leave the clubhouse after games at Guaranteed Rate Field, they check a whiteboard for the next day's report time and batting practice schedule.

After Friday night's 12-11 win over the Tigers, the board was wiped clean.

The Sox were well aware of the forecast calling for snow and rain, and Saturday night's game against Detroit was postponed in the morning.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on July 3. The makeup game starts at 1:10 p.m. and the regularly scheduled game starts at 7:10 p.m.

Game tickets, parking coupons and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes from Saturday night's postponed game will only be honored at the 1:10 p.m. game on July 3.

There was a Jose Abreu Silver Slugger bobblehead giveaway scheduled for Saturday night. That's been moved to Game 1 on July 3.

The White Sox and Tigers should be able to play the final game of the series Sunday afternoon. Sox right-hander Reynaldo Lopez starts against Matthew Boyd.

The White Sox will also have an update on Eloy Jimenez, who left Friday night's game in the third inning with a sprained right ankle after running into the fence.

Jimenez was scheduled to have an MRI Saturday.
