Scouting report: Blackhawks vs. N.Y. Islanders

The skinny: The red-hot Islanders have won seven of eight, outscoring opponents 28-14. … New York's offense is led by Anders Lee (14 goals), Brock Nelson (13 goals) and Mathew Barzal (10G, 26A). The key to the Islanders success, however, has been their goaltending. Robin Lehner is 9-6-3 with a .930 save percentage and 2.14 goals-against average. He has allowed more than 1 goal in regulation in just one of his last eight starts. Thomas Greiss, meanwhile, is 12-7-1 with a .917 save percentage and 2.62 GAA. … Five of the last six goals allowed by the Hawks have come with the opponent on the power play, a delayed penalty or into an empty net. The Hawks have allowed at least 1 PP goal in 18 of the last 29 games. … These teams meet again at the United Center Jan. 22.
