Blackhawks goalie Crawford could return for Oct. 18 game, Quenneville says

Don't mark it down with permanent marker, but coach Joel Quenneville is cautiously optimistic that Corey Crawford's first game back with the Blackhawks could be against Arizona Oct. 18 at the United Center.

It's the Hawks' sixth game of the season and it comes five days after the Hawks host St. Louis.

"There's a window of four days off after that Saturday game and, if all goes well, that could be a perfect scenario," Quenneville said.

"But you never know if there's a bump or two in the road."

Crawford, who hasn't played since Dec. 23 at Carolina, took part Tuesday in a second straight practice with his teammates at MB Ice Arena.

"He looks extremely good out there," Quenneville said. "He's tracking the puck, his quickness, his anticipation, his movements … glove hand looks sharp. He's sharp in all areas. So I don't see anything different."

Sick bay

Brent Seabrook was the third player in the last four days to miss practice with an illness. The others were Luke Johnson and Alex DeBrincat.

"Hopefully Seabs is at the end of it," Joel Quenneville said.
