Girls volleyball: Batavia wins season opener
Maddy Boyer had 7 kills, 8 digs, was 14-for-14 passing and served 4 aces Thursday night as Batavia opened its girls volleyball season with a 25-21, 25-18 nonconference win over Wheaton Academy.
Becca Robinson had 19 assists and 6 digs for the Bulldogs while Lauren Haefer added 6 kills and 6 digs and Alexis Whelpley had 6 kills.
CL South d. Hampshire: Megan House had 9 kills to lead Crystal Lake South to a 25-20, 25-14 Fox Valley Conference win. Jamie Maule (10 digs), Megan Langdon (3 blocks) and Kenzie Wilson (17 assists) also contributed for the Gators (1-1, 1-1).
Prairie Ridge d. Dundee-Crown: Jenna Brown (3 kills), Payton Schmidt (4 assists) and Natalia Smiech (6 digs) led D-C (0-2, 0-2) in a 25-13, 25-11 FVC loss.
