IceHogs out to 2-0 series lead over Manitoba Moose

Tyler Sikura, Chris DiDomenico, Andreas Martinsen and defenseman Carl Dahlstrom scored goals for Rockford in the IceHogs' 4-1 victory over host Manitoba in Game 2 of their Calder Cup playoff series Saturday. The IceHogs now lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 with Game 3 in Rockford on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Manitoba took a 1-0 lead late in the first period, but Sikura tied it up 2:35 later. He has 3 goals and an assist in five playoff games.

"They were desperate - especially in the beginning," Rockford coach Jeremy Colliton said of Manitoba. "They had a really good push against us. … But we weathered the storm and then we got a big goal at the end of the period. I think for us to come in 1-1 was probably a bit of a blow to them."

DiDomenico scored his third goal of the playoffs at 4:45 of the second period with Rockford on the power play, and Dahlstrom made it 3-1 at 16:03 of the second. The IceHogs are 10-for-28 (35.7 percent) with the man advantage in the postseason.

Colin Delia made 33 saves for Rockford.
