Girls volleyball: Harvest Christian nails down 7th straight regional title

Madison Pfister had 11 kills and 2 blocks while Amanda Cassidy added 7 kills and 7 digs Thursday night to lead the Harvest Christian girls volleyball team to a 25-11, 25-18 win over Woodlands Academy and the Class 2A Willows Academy regional championship.

It's the seventh regional title for the Lions' program, all of them in succession since Harvest began competing in IHSA sports in 2011-12.

Kaitlyn Murray added 22 assists for the Lions (27-11) Thursday while Hannah Griffith (3 kills) and Rylee Boldog (5 aces) also contributed.

Harvest will take on DePaul Prep on Monday in the Chicago Christ the King sectional.

Christian Liberty d. Westminster Christian: Grace Bickford (2 aces, 7 digs, 11 kills), Sophia Hopkins (20 assists, 2 aces) and Mica Glanzer (2 aces, 5 kills) led Westminster (12-17) in a 26-24, 25-27, 25-10 loss to the host school in a Class 1A regional final.
