Girls volleyball: Stevenson takes senior-night victory against Warren

Sophie Sorenson pounded 11 kills and served 2 aces, and Stevenson's girls volleyball team celebrated Senior Night by beating Warren 25-21, 25-17 in the two teams' North Suburban Conference finale Wednesday.

Stevenson (22-13, 5-2) also received 5 kills apiece from Lauren Micek and Hope Havenhill, while Sara Bufe tallied 3 kills, 1 solo block and 3 assisted blocks. Alex Cuc dished out 28 assists and served 2 aces, and Chloe Robinson tallied 13 digs.

Mundelein d. Lake Zurich: The host Mustangs knocked off the conference champs 25-13, 11-25, 28-26 in the North Suburban finale, as Taylor Heath had 6 kills.

Alexis Naddy and Gillian Paul added 5 and 4 kills, respectively, for Mundelein (12-19, 3-4). The Mustangs' other contributors included Faith Krabbe (3 kills, 10 assists), Maggie O'Donnell (2 aces), Claudia Wilcox (9 assists), Isabella Cartland (14 digs) and Diana Orozco (12 digs).

Lakes d. North Chicago: The visiting Eagles won 25-11, 25-3 to complete a perfect run through the Northern Lake County Conference.

Lakes improved to 27-3 and finished 7-0 in the NLCC. Four-year starting middle blocker Katie Billetdeaux was the Eagles' recipient of the conference's sportsmanship award.

"She truly represents our school's motto: Respect + Courtesy =Pride," Lakes coach Jenni Florian said.

Faith Conway served 10 aces and dished out 4 assists for the Eagles. Kaitlyn Clay had 3 kills, and Devinn Bell notched 8 assists.
