Marklund has selected Kate Thommes as Program Manager for their new Bridge Builder CDS day program for adults with autism and developmental disabilities.

The Glenbard West High School boys wrestling team is named Marklund's 2024 Volunteer Group of the Year for serving as course marshals, decorating, working on crafts with residents, and joined in the gift opening with residents.

First inspired by a high school friendship with one of the residents, Alison Smith became an active volunteer with Marklund, offering pet therapy, helping with outings, organizing an egg hunt, and getting her church and her classroom students involved with the nonprofit.

Alicia Lesiewicz of Bloomingdale was the female winner at Marklund's Run, Walk & Roll-Bloomingdale 5K/1-mile event with a time of 20:52.
