Temporary street closures planned during Wheaton's Reindeer Run 5K

The Wheaton Park District and Lions Club Charities are hosting the 12th annual Lions Club Reindeer Run 5K at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in downtown Wheaton.

The following streets will be temporarily closed from about 8 to 10:30 a.m.:

• Main Street between Front Street and Jefferson Avenue;

• Jefferson Avenue between Main Street and Cross Street;

• Cross Street between Jefferson Avenue and Prairie Avenue;

• Prairie Avenue between Cross Street and Santa Rosa Avenue;

• Santa Rosa Avenue between Forest Avenue and Cadillac Drive;

• Cadillac Drive between Santa Rosa Avenue and Webster Avenue;

• Webster Avenue between Cadillac Drive and Forest Avenue;

• Forest Avenue between Irving Avenue and President Street;

• Irving Avenue between Forest Avenue and Prairie Avenue;

• Oak Avenue between Irving Avenue and Washington Street;

• Washington Street between Prairie Avenue and Union Avenue;

• Union Avenue between Scott Street and Washington Street;

• Scott Street between Union Avenue and Wesley Street;

• Wesley Street between Scott Street and Main Street.

Do not move the barricades or cones set up to ensure the safety of the runners. During the event, streets will be staffed with uniformed police officers to assist and direct traffic.
