How to enter Wheaton holiday decorating contest

Wheaton will ring in the holiday season with a citywide decorating contest.

Residents, businesses, churches and other organizations can participate in the "Light Up Wheaton" contest hosted by the city and the park district.

Participants have the chance to compete for prizes and bragging rights in three categories: Most Creative, People's Choice Award and Mayor's Choice Award. Judging will run from Dec. 9-17.

Photos and locations will be shared on city and park district social media pages for public voting. All participating homes also will be listed on an online map so families can drive around and see the festive decorations.

To enter the free contest and be added to the tour map, submit a photo of the display by noon Friday, Dec. 8, to lcali@wheatonparks.org.

Contest winners will be announced via social media on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
