Man shot in leg Sunday night in Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that left a man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police said officers responding to a report of shots fired at approximately 7:23 p.m. on the 100 block of North Maple Street found a victim at residence. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of what police called a nonlife-threatening injury.

Police said detectives are actively investigating the shooting and authorities will provide additional information when it is available.
