Addison man convicted of setting car on fire at Elmhurst dealership

A DuPage County jury Thursday convicted an Addison man of setting a car on fire at a dealership.

Dario Salas, 41, of the 100 block of Michael Lane, was found guilty of two counts of arson.

Prosecutors alleged that at 1:14 a.m. April 13, 2022, Salas entered a lot at Elmhurst BMW, 500 W. Lake St. in Elmhurst. He then poured gasoline on an Audi and set it on fire. The Audi was destroyed, and two other cars were damaged.

Salas has been held on $200,000 bail since his arrest the next day. Bail was revoked after his conviction.

He is due to be sentenced by Judge Mia McPherson on June 22.
