Mainstreet Libertyville Farmers Market opens June 1

The 43rd annual Farmers Market in Cook Park in downtown Libertyville opens on Thursday, June 1. Located on West Church Street in downtown Libertyville, the market will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays, June 1 and 8 and June 22 through Oct. 19 (no market on June 15).

Opening day festivities will begin at 9 a.m. at the MainStreet Libertyville tent with the official watermelon cutting ceremony, a long-standing tradition at the market.

With more than 45 vendors this year, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Shop weekly for seasonal produce, cheeses, dips, honey, sweets, breads, seafood, microgreens and other locally produced staples.

Farmers markets allow customer access to fresh, nutritious food by way of a short supply chain, and help support the local economy as well as growers and producers. A bounty of farm fresh produce, artisan foodstuffs, fresh flowers and tasty baked creations awaits customers each week.

Free, four-hour parking is available in the covered parking garages on Lake Street and Church Street. For more information and list of the vendors, visit mainstreetlibertyville.org, follow MainStreet Libertyville's social media channels or call the MainStreet office at (847) 680-0336.
