Wheaton police to 'Stuff the Squad' with donations for Milton Township Food Pantry

Wheaton police will hold a donation drive next week to help restock the shelves at the Milton Township Food Pantry.

True to its name, the department's annual "Stuff the Squad" event has police filling up a patrol SUV with donated food and household items for neighbors in need.

People can drop off donations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at police department headquarters, 900 W. Liberty Drive. For those unable to attend the event, there will be a donation box in the police department lobby through the end of the week.

The most-needed pantry items include canned salmon, canned chicken, spam, cereal, and snacks. The Wheaton-based food pantry also is seeking donations of the following toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, disposable razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap, toilet paper, facial tissues, size 6 diapers and baby wipes.
