Mount Prospect police giving out steering wheel locks
In response to a high number of vehicle thefts, the Mount Prospect Police Department is giving away steering wheel locks for Kia and Hyundai cars that are a 2021 model or older with a key ignition start.
To receive a free lock, go to the police headquarters at 911 E. Kensington Road. You must provide proof of Mount Prospect residency or employment as well as vehicle registration.
Locks will be given out a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, call (847)-870-5650 or email crimeprevention@mountprospect.org.
