Q: Why are you running for this office, whether for reelection or election the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?

A: Helping our kids to be prepared for the future and be ready for tomorrow's challenges.

Q: What is the role of the school board in setting and monitoring curriculum?

A: We are monitoring the curriculum before it's been in place and we approve it.

Q: Are there curriculum issues within the district that you feel need particular attention from the board?

A: Not really. The curriculum has been designed for the needs of our 3 districts

Q: How do you view your role in confronting policy or curriculum controversies: provide leadership even if unpopular, give a voice to constituents - even ones with whom you disagree, or defer to state authorities?

A: We have to establish a way to communicate and listen to both parties and find a solution for that matter.

Q: Concerns are growing regarding a new resurgence of the pandemic. If another massive outbreak of infectious disease occurs, what have we learned from the COVID-19 pandemic that will guide your decision making?

A: That we are well prepared with the guidelines of our strategic plan in place and running already.

Q: Describe your experience working in a group setting to determine policy. What is your style in such a setting to reach agreement and manage school district policy? Explain how you think that will be effective in producing effective actions and decisions of your school board.

A: I am a listener. I may not be a leader, but that is the reason we are a group and we can determine with the the guidelines of our association what is good and bad for our school district.

Q: What makes you the best candidate for the job?

A: The past experience as a PTA vice president, band booster at District 2 and Fenton, volunteer for 4 years on afterschool programs at Tioga, and the most important a parent of two graduates from our school district makes me well prepared for this position at the district.

Q: What's one good idea you have to better your district that no one is talking about yet?

A: Be present at any town hall meetings at the district and city hall.
