Chicago man accused of shooting at another driver in Highland Park

A Chicago man has been arrested on charges stemming from an August road rage incident in Highland Park, officials said Saturday.

Tyrone J. Watson, 27, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, which is a felony, according to a news release from the city of Highland Park.

The victim was driving south on Skokie Valley Road just after 2 p.m. Aug. 15 when Watson pulled a handgun and fired two shots at the victim, police said.

One of the shots struck the vehicle, but nobody was injured. The suspect drove away and was last seen exiting Skokie Valley Road to eastbound Central Avenue, police said.

An investigation led police to Watson, and a warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 24.

The Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Services Team, Highland Park Police Department and Zion Police Department took Watson into custody Wednesday evening.

He was taken to the Lake County jail, where he is being held on $350,000 bond.
