A concrete worker was trapped beneath a foundation wall for several minutes Wednesday at a construction site in Vernon Hills.

Vernon Hills firefighters responded at 10:07 a.m. to reports of a construction accident on the 1300 block of Mansion Road.

Authorities said that a concrete company was pouring foundation for a home under construction when the wall fell over and trapped the worker.

The worker was trapped for about seven minutes before first responders and the other workers on site were able to lift the wall and free him.

The worker was conscious and responsive when he was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, according to authorities.

The accident is still under investigation.
