Property tax appeal seminar Aug. 22 in Schaumburg

Schaumburg Township Assessor John R. Lawson will co-host a free educational property tax appeals seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 22 in the Schaumburg High School gymnasium, 100 W. Schaumburg Road.

The seminar will include a presentation followed by a question-and-answer period. Cook County assessor's office speakers will explain how property taxes are calculated and share tips on how to file a successful appeal. Representatives will be available to assist residents in filing appeals on site.

Registration is not required but requested at bit.ly/3zJxfhV. Enter the gym through Door 10.

Others co-hosting the event include state Sen. Laura Murphy, state Rep. Michelle Mussman, Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison, Hoffman Estates Mayor Bill McLeod, Hanover Park Mayor Rodney Craig and Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig B. Johnson.
