Wauconda Fest begins with food and fun

The four-day annual Wauconda Fest kicked off Thursday evening at 600 N. Main St. in Wauconda.

Food at this year's event features Brothers BBQ, Plum Garden, My Funnel, Little Rock Stock Cafe, Three Amigas and Rosati's.

Wine and beer tasting and live music started the night at 5 p.m. under the big tent. Midway games and rides were a big draw and will continue through the weekend.

The gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday with musical entertainment including Feuding Hillbillys at 7 p.m. and High Infidelity at 9:30 p.m., while American Legion bingo continues from 6-9 p.m.

Gates open Saturday at noon and there will be a police dog demonstration at 3 p.m., bags tournament at 3:30 p.m. and more bingo from 4-9 p.m. Live music starts at 7 p.m.

Sunday will feature a car show and kids' Power Wheels show at 11 a.m., arts and crafts from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m., parent/teen bags tournament at 2:30 p.m., Bingo from 1-5 p.m. and live music starting at 3 p.m.

Only cash will be accepted at the gate. Cost is $4.
