Fire near Lake Barrington contained to garage

The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District is continuing to investigate the cause of a Thursday night house fire near Lake Barrington that was contained to the attached garage in which it started.

No injuries were reported from the fire reported at 10:21 p.m. on the 27000 block of West Flynn Creek Drive in unincorporated Lake County.

The initial crews arrived to find fire in the garage and smoke throughout the home, authorities said.

Firefighters extinguished the garage fire and completed ventilation of the structure.

Direct assistance was provided by the fire departments of Barrington and Hoffman Estates and the fire protection districts of Cary, Fox River Grove, Lake Zurich, Long Grove and Wauconda.

Change-of-quarters assistance was provided by the Deerfield Bannockburn Fire Protection District and the Des Plaines, Elgin and Streamwood fire departments.
