Central Road closing in downtown Mount Prospect for rail crossing repairs

The Union Pacific Railroad will be performing track repairs to the Central Road railroad crossing in downtown Mount Prospect beginning the morning of Saturday, April 30.

Central Road will be completely closed in both directions during the work. Detour signs will be set up along Northwest Highway, Central Road, Busse Road and Arlington Heights Road to direct traffic to the Arlington Heights Road crossing.

Other nearby crossings, including Main (Route 83), Emerson and Davis streets will remain open.

The crossing is expected to remain closed until Friday, May 6.
