Police: Chicago man charged in 2020 Northbrook robbery

A Chicago man now stands accused of a 2020 robbery in downtown Northbrook, officials said.

Andrew Luellen, 20, was taken into custody March 31 and charged with one felony count of robbery, according to a news release from the Northbrook Police Department.

Luellen was one of two people who robbed a 7-Eleven at 1512 Shermer Road on Sept. 3, 2020, Northbrook Police said.

A juvenile suspect in the robbery was apprehended in December 2020.

Officials said at the time that, at about 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, 2020, two men between 18 and 24 years old entered the 7-Eleven. They went behind the counter to pull out the cash drawer and took an estimated $2,000 in cash. No weapon was displayed or implied.

The suspects got into a dark-colored Toyota Scion and left, heading south from the 7-Eleven.
