Townhouses could replace former Maurice Sporting Goods warehouse in Northbrook

Workers from Heneghan Wrecking demolished the former Maurice Sporting Goods processing and warehouse facility, 1825 Shermer Road, in Northbrook recently, and a multiunit residential development will likely take its place.

Located at the intersection of Stanley Street and Shermer Road just south of the Shermer Place development, the site has been vacant for several years, according to the village.

Trustees have reviewed preliminary plans for an eight building, 53-unit Lexington Homes townhouse development, but at present, Lexington homes has not submitted a formal application, a village spokesperson said in an email, adding that an affiliate of Lexington Homes owns the property.
