Three people taken to hospital following two-vehicle crash in Algonquin

Three people were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday following a two-vehicle crash in Algonquin.

Police responded around 11:30 a.m. to the crash at Algonquin and Randall roads.

Southbound traffic on Randall Road and westbound traffic on Algonquin Road were shut down for about 45 minutes as police investigated and cleared the accident scene, Algonquin police Sgt. Nate Stenger said.

According to Stenger, the driver of a red passenger truck was stopped with a red left-turn arrow in the westbound lane of Algonquin Road, waiting to turn left onto northbound Randall Road. The driver of the truck proceeded to turn left and struck a silver passenger truck traveling west on Algonquin Road. Stenger said the westbound traffic on Algonquin Road had a green signal.

Two adult male drivers and one female passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Stenger said.
