Mask-wearing at Mundelein Park & Recreation District indoor facilities will be optional for employees, participants and members starting Monday, Feb. 28.

The policy change includes the Mundelein community center, indoor pool and health & fitness center, gym, lobby, exercise and dance studios, offices and other facilities. Safety protocols including countertop plexiglass shields, disinfectant cleaning and sanitation stations will continue.

Masks will be available to those who need one and will continue to be required in Learning Center Preschool and Big & Little Child Development Center programs, which will be evaluated regularly. The district said the decision aligns with state plans.
