Glenview man facing two new charges in child molestation case

A Glenview man already facing charges of sexual abuse of children was charged again following another complaint.

Bruce Claver, 57, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane, on Feb. 4 was charged with additional counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse after an investigation into a complaint made Jan. 10, police said.

The continued investigation revealed two complaints involving separate minor children, police said.

Claver had a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse on Feb. 5 and was held without bond pending a Feb. 8 court hearing, according to a Glenview Police Department spokesperson.

Glenview Police, aided by the Cook County state's attorney's office, the Department of Child and Family Services and the Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County, began an investigation Dec. 24 after a parent reported abuse had occurred over multiple years, officials said.

Claver was charged Jan. 10 with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and predatory criminal sexual assault, records show.

During the investigation, police learned of a separate complaint involving another child. Claver and the children are not related, police said.

At that time, Claver was taken to Skokie Jan. 10 for a bond hearing, with bail set at $250,000.
