Coroner identifies Lake in the Hills man killed in Wednesday crash

A 31-year-old man was killed in a car crash Wednesday night in Lake in the Hills, the McHenry County coroner said Friday.

Jordan Bergmann of Lake in the Hills died of blunt-force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, Coroner Michael Rein said Friday.

A toxicology report is pending. The coroner's office is working with the Lake in the Hills Police Department, which is investigating the cause of the crash.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department and Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 1100 block of West Algonquin Road, near Pyott Road, where they found a pickup truck rolled over, according to the fire and police departments said Thursday.

Bergmann's black Toyota Tacoma was westbound when he lost control and struck a guardrail, the Lake in the Hills Police Department said in the Thursday release. No other vehicles were involved.
