Village administrator leaving after 20 years of service in Lake in the Hills

After 20 years of service to the village of Lake in the Hills, Fred Mullard will be leaving his job as village administrator in March.

"Fred's strong leadership, wise decision making, and breadth of experience will be missed," Village President Ray Bogdanowski said in a news release. "The positive impacts he has made while serving our community for over two decades will endure, and we wish him the best going forward."

Mullard joined the village in 2001 as Deputy Public Works Director and Airport Manager. He was promoted to public works director in 2005 and held the job until 2018, when he became the first director of the newly created Community Services Division. He took over as village administrator in July 2020.

Mullard's position will be filled by Assistant Village Administrator Shannon Andrews.

"The village looks forward to a smooth transition of leadership," Bogdanowski said in the release, adding that he anticipates requesting the board's consent for the appointment of Andrews at the March 10 village board meeting.

The village is soliciting applications for assistant village administrator. Details of the position and application procedures are available at lith.org.
