Palatine man charged in Mt. Prospect burglary

A Palatine man has been charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property after a Mount Prospect break-in.

At 3:53 a.m. Saturday, Juan Armenta-Jimenez forced open a basement window and broke into a home on the 1800 block of Aztec Lane, Mount Prospect police said in a news release Wednesday.

The homeowner called 911, and police arrested Armenta-Jimenez at the scene, the news release said.

His bond was set at $30,000, and his next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 18 in Rolling Meadows.
