No injuries in Addison house fire that caused $100,000 in damage

Addison Fire Protection District officials said a house that caught fire on Friday sustained $100,000 in damage.

No injuries occurred in the blaze that was reported at 10:05 a.m. by the owner of the single-family home on the 1000 block of Fischer Drive.

Fire officials believe the fire started in the attached garage and then spread to the second floor and kitchen of the home. Both smoke and fire were visible when firefighters arrived.

The blaze was extinguished within 20 minutes of the firefighters' arrival. They spent nearly three hours on the scene checking for hot spots and performing salvage operations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and rendered the home uninhabitable.
