Woodridge to offer program on 'Lessons Learned from the Tornado' Dec. 8

The Woodridge Public Library and the village of Woodridge are sponsoring the program "Lessons Learned from the Tornado: Insurance Coverage Tips & Information" from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the library, 3 Plaza Drive, Woodridge.

Patrice Dziire, deputy director of Consumer Education & Protection with the state of Illinois Department of Insurance, will offer an insurance overview addressing the basics of good insurance coverage and making insurance claims.

In response to the challenges faced by Woodridge after the June 2021 tornado, the program also will touch on flood insurance, tiered deductibles, and the role of insurance adjusters.

The village and library also will be providing giveaways: emergency pocket flashlight, water-resistant "Important Documents" portfolio and scented Life Savers candle.

Attendees will take home an insurance tip sheet along with contact information for the state of Illinois Department of Insurance.
