Merry Cary parade marches holiday spirit into town

The weather didn't provide the preferred winter wonderland, but that was about all that was missing Sunday when the annual Merry Cary Holiday Parade & Festival returned to downtown Cary.

The 20th anniversary edition of the parade and festival drew hearty crowds who braved the less-than-ideal conditions to enjoy the holiday fun.

Besides the highlight parade down Main Street, the fest featured a petting zoo and pony rides for kids, entertainment and horse-drawn sleigh rides for the entire family, story time with Mrs. Claus, visits with Santa and more.
